Living the Dream in 2013

Where did 2012 go? I blinked and all of a sudden it was 2013. Family and friends - we've had a great year together and I am so thankful to have all of you in my life. Although the year did not end on a high note, I can't wait to see what 2013 has to offer.

There are so many great things to look forward to in the coming year - decorating a fabulous new bachelorette pad in my favorite neighborhood; working on a massive project at work and finally seeing it come to fruition; potential new job opportunities at Macy's; training/running the NYC Half Marathon this March; and being a bridesmaid for the first time in one of my best friend's wedding this May, are just a few things making me smile these days.

My coworker Julie has deemed the catchphrase for 2013 as follows: "Living the Dream in 2013" and it has now become my new motto. Look forward to exciting new posts in the coming year.

Cheers to a fabulous New Me and New Year ahead!

Home is Where the Art is

I am in full decorating mode since I've moved into my adorable bachelorette pad on the Upper West Side. I've got so much wall space that I've made it my mission to find new art/frames for the abode. Yesterday I stumbled across a fantastic website called Society6 that showcases fabulous art prints from hundreds of thousands of artists from all around the world. What's great about the website is you can filter on all different types of categories including: animals, black and white, humor and my favorite, typography.

Check out my favorite prints from artist Happee Monkee. In addition to prints, the artist also offers custom cards, iphone cases, and even throw pillows. Can you guess which one I ordered for my new apartment?

Les Miserables

I've been itching for Christmas to get here already to finally see Les Mis. Every preview I watch on tv I get more and more excited for this gem of a film. Tomorrow I'm off to see it with my mom and some girlfriends. I hope the movie lives up to all the hype. Check out Ann Hathaway below belting her heart out in "I Dreamed a Dream". Are you excited to see the film?

The O.C.

{Huntington Beach Pier}

Peace out NYC, I'm off to Huntington Beach to enjoy 10 days of relaxation with my family and friends. Hope everyone enjoys the last few nights of Hanukkah and has a Merry Christmas. When I return, who is coming with me to see Les Mis? I can barely contain my excitement :)

Big changes for 2013 and I can't wait to share them all with you. Posts may be limited in California, but for now, Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year!

Pumped Up Kicks

Even in Kindergarten I was way ahead of the high top sneaker craze because my first pair of sneakers was a pair of high top hot pink Chuck Taylors. I haven't thought about purchasing a pair of high top sneakers until now. I am obsessed with Isabel Marant's high top wedge sneaker (street style picture above) but can't bare to pay over $700 for these fashion forward kicks. Check out all the other lower priced options I found in just about any color imaginable. Which style is your favorite?

Dirty Gold

This Friday I am off to California for 10 relaxing days at my parent's house. I am so excited to run by the beach, enjoy some warmer weather, and spend time with my family. What better way to get ready for this weekend than to play my favorite summer jam from 2011, "California Sunrise" by the adorable beachwave/afro-pop trio Dirty Gold. Hailing all the way from San Diego, these boys are a mixture of Vampire Weekend meets Beach House. What do you think? Enjoy and listen below!

Cool Runnings

Middle: Nike Relay Print // Dri-Fit Long Sleeve
Right: Run Performance Midlayer Jacket // Studio Seamless Pants

This summer it was excruciatingly hot and I am so thankful braving the unbearable heat is no longer. Everyone knows running outside is one of my favorite activities, and with the cold months upon us, I can now enjoy this activity to its fullest. Take a look at some of my favorite winter running gear from Nike, Adidas, and Adidas by Stella McCartney. Grab those running tights and I'll see you out on the Williamsburg bridge.

Father John Misty

Earlier this year, Joshua Tillman from Fleet Foxes put out a solo album under the moniker Father John Misty. The album, Fear Fun, is one of the best of albums of 2012. After a few listens, his melodic voice and acoustic folk sound will entrance you. You will suddenly be asking yourself, who were the Fleet Foxes again? Check out my favorite song off the album - "Nancy From Now On". What do you think?
