My Tiny Girlfriend

Last month I brought this amazing post featuring my adorable tiny boyfriend and this month I bring you the girlfriend equivalent.  This mother and daughter duo are creating jaw-dropping dresses out of construction paper, tissue paper, wrapping paper and gift bags, basically anything lying around the house that is pliable is fair game. About nine months ago, Angie (the mother) was frustrated continuing to find Mayhem's (daughter) clothes inside her toy box and came up with a brilliant idea to make dresses out of paper. Mayhem loved the idea and they haven't stopped creating dresses since. You can follow the fun on her Instagram feed, but check out some of my favorite creations below. I am utterly amazed, which one is your favorite?

Festival Flair

This weekend the temperature was absolutely beautiful. It has been ages since we have seen temperatures in the mid 50s. The warmer climates got me excited for the Spring/Summer. Although the temperatures dropped yet again on Monday, it was nice to dream about cuter outfits (for a split second), instead we are stuck wearing these mundane drab puffy coats for the last 4 months.

I can't believe the month of March is upon us this weekend, which means, our first stint of festival season is just around the corner. SXSW starts March 11-16 followed by Coachcella, April 12-14 & 19-21 and of course a slew of others later in the summer. The best way to prep for the ultimate music showdown is getting your festival flair ready. Check out my top outfits below, which flair is your favorite?

Bleachers

I first fell in love with Jack Antonoff before he started dating Lena Dunham and before he started making sweet guitar sounds for the band Fun. It was love at first site with his mopped jew fro, when he used to be the frontman for a band called Steel Train. They were a rock band from New Jersey and who would frequently tour with a band from my High School called Hellogoodbye.

Ladies, be prepared to fall in love all over again with Antonoff's side project titled Bleachers. The debut single hit the interwebs last week and I can't stop listening. "I Wanna Get Better" is a repeat-worthy indie anthem that reminds me of sunshine vibes and bicycle weather. I am keeping my fingers crossed the album has a similar aesthetic, which will drop later this Spring.

So listen below and give Bleachers first single a spin! (And then another, and then another, and then another.....). Are you hooked?

Daisy Chain

Dress // Loafer // Necklace // Perfume // Tank // Earrings // Statement Ring //
 Headband // Tote // Bracelet // Sweater // Romper

My favorite flower of all time is having a moment in the spotlight this Spring. It seems that everywhere I turn, this whimsical blossom is sprouting up everywhere. Forget your usual prints of polka dots, hearts or stripes, this one, is a fun and fresh alternative. After this intense winter that we have had, I'm looking for the perfect pick-me-up. You can either add this pattern to your go-to sundress or a brand new weekend tote, either way, there's plenty of interpretations that everyone will fancy. I've got my eye on all of them, what about you?

Jeremy Messersmith

Singer-song writer Jeremy Messersmith latest album Heart Murmurs, focuses on the many different dimensions of love. With subtle strings and sly infectiousness, it's an album that has me hooked even just after the first song. The man can surely craft a pop standard with similarities to Ben Gibbard, Joshua Radin, and Josh Ritter. The difference though, he is full of surprising twists and strange turns. Take a listen to one of my favorite songs below and see for yourself.

NY Fashion Week Round Up - Fall 2014

Oh Fall Fashion Week, you have put me out of my misery of the snowpocalypse and put me into a dreamlike state filled with wonderful designers, inspiration, and draw dropping silhouettes. One of these days I hope to make it to at least a few shows, but for now, check out the top three shows, I have been obsessing over this week. Who has been your favorite?

M I L L Y
Right before her runway show, designer Michelle Smith commented backstage that she "thinks some of the new ballerinas are the new style stars, like Maria Kochetkova from the San Francisco Ballet." This comment ties perfectly into her fall collection fit for any prima ballerina. All of her silhouettes floated down the runway in lush fabrications of sequins, fur, and velvet. I am purchasing one of these pieces and then headed to Lincoln Center this Fall to catch the Ballet in style.

N O V I S
Jordana Warmflesh, who got her start working for powerhouses Zac Posen and Alice + Olivia. Is an emerging designer who has become recognized for her unique original prints and retro-inspired silhouettes.
Her recent collection was inspired by Bauhaus artist Paul Klee which she interpreted his expressionist paintings into a plethora of different ways. From swingy topcoats in beautiful blocked plaid to pretty watercolor landscape prints featured on dainty frocks and minis, she is on the right path to making a big name for herself in the industry.

J I L L  S T U A R T
Jill Stuart's Fall collection is a New Yorker's dream - black, black and more black. Although somewhat monotone, each silhouette is sweet yet sexy produced in a variety of lush fabrications. She was quoted before the start of her show that her muse this season is "a girl with attitude who likes to pick her clothes instinctively. She's massively unpredictable and boyishly poetic - an irregular beauty." With a muse like that, I will have one of everything please.

To The Window, To The Wall

I just re-signed my lease for another 2 years in my adorable UWS studio apartment. Since I am going to be in my space a little bit longer I have been recently thinking about ways to update the space without going overboard. One of the latest home decor trends that is making a huge comeback is adhesive wallpaper. Since most of us are renters, this is an easy and removable project that won't take days to undo when moving out. I would love to add wallpaper to the back wall of my dressing nook. Take a look at the best places on the web for removable wallpaper.

CB2
Last month, CB2, Crate and Barrel's modern sister store launched their first wallpaper line. The prints are affordable and extremely refreshing. They will spruce up anyone's white walls with clean, sophisticated, modern patterns. Take a peak at my favorite removable prints ranging from circular honeycombs to a fun take on the Manhattan landscapes.

SPOONFLOWER
Head on over to Spoonflower, and chose from a variety of themes for your walls. There are some amazing prints and patterns inclusive of different colorways and sizes. You can also search your own by typing in key words into their search button. Can you tell I am obsessed with their arrow prints? I have too many favorites and can't just pick one favorite.

TIMOTHY SUE
Timothy Sueis a company designed by artist Colette Clark. She creates beautiful removable wallpaper inspired by her drawings, doodles and watercolors. Her papers bridge the gap between digital innovation and the beauty of handmade goods. How awesome is the wallpaper on the ceiling?

NONONO

Swedish trio, NONONO hit the 2013 interwebs by storm with their hit single Pumpin' Blood. If you did not catch it on the blogosphere, than you definitely recognize it from the commercial breaks of New Girl for the ad campaigns of Samsung's Galaxy IV and aSparking Ice.

With the anticipation of their debut album, titled, We Are Only What We Feel released via Warner Bros. Records, new music continues to drop. New Single, Hungry Eyes, is a fantastic infectious installment, complete with the same vivacious pop as their original tune minus the signature whistling. Check it out below.

Mugshot

1 // 2 // 3 // 4 // 5 // 6 // 7 // 8 // 9

This week, NYC got hit with two pretty bad snowstorms. Prompting multiple snow days, early work dismissals, and nasty snow mush all over the sidewalks. Oh and an added bonus, Puxatony Phil, the groundhog, saw his shadow, ugh. I can't wait for six more weeks of winter ahead of us (note the sarcasm). It has been a struggle getting out of bed this winter as mother nature has not been the friendliest. Curling up in bed in these bad boys and with a good book is always the best remedy when you can't go outside. Also endless amounts of tea or coffee to keep your body warm. Check out these adorable mugs to keep that hot beverage of choice fashionable!! Which one do you have your eye on?

Jenny Lewis

One of my favorite things to do on Sundays is to invite my girlfriends over for dinner and/or snacks with wine to catch up on the latest episode of Girls, the hit HBO Show written and directed by the infamous Lena Dunham. It has become the ultimate Sunday ritual, jam packed with amazing Shosh quotes, Brooklyn and Manhattan neighborhood scenes, and of course new music to get behind.

The latest new music to get added to the show's second volume soundtrack is by the adorable Jenny Lewis (aka Hannah Nefler from Troop Beverly Hills). She teamed up with Vampire Weekend's Rostam Batmanglij to create this catchy folk ballad tune. Completely Not Me is only two and half minutes long, but packed with a slice of emotional indie pop that will keep you wanting more or at least the repeat button again and again. Check it out below.
