Summer Hues

Summer Hues

Lately, I've been all about the neutral nail, but adding a fun pop of color on my toes. Essie just unleashed their inner beach goddess with their amazing Summer 2015 collection inspired by endless Summer fun. It looks like I may have to change my nail game, because these colors rock.
The palette gets everyone into the groove with an array of fabulous shades. Pair your favorite Summer shade with some matching accessories for the ultimate look.

According to Essie, it's a hue that is all things "Pristine and pretty. Sparkling and crisp. Infused with subtle shimmer, this radiant white is a lovely luxe getaway from the everyday." Grab this watch and these sandals for the ultimate look.

Essie recommends this shade as "totally. chill. out. cold and refreshing. This pretty, frozen cream pistachio color sends shivers down your spine." Complete your outfit with this Iphone case and dazzling pouch.

Essie says it's "sweet. gorgeous. hot. This sun-ripe peach tempts every sense with freshly-picked beauty." Beauty goes along way especially with these earrings and crossbody.

Essie turns up the heat with this hue and claims "when the sun sinks low, kick off the evening in the height of cool: an opulent sneaker and this vibrant crimson red." Pair it with these kicks and earrings.

Something borrowed and definitely something blue - a color for every Summer bride. Essie states it's "soft and inviting, nothing says Summer on the ocean like this sugar-sweet atlantic blue that stretches on and on." Match your look with these ballerina flats and statement necklace.

Essie asks, are you "ready to suit up? Snap up Summer's chicest accessories - a surfboard and this immersive marine blue - and hit the waves in style. And if surfing isn't your sport rock the shade in style with this awesome shades and fantastic bucket bag.

Cape Cub

It was definitely a very, very lazy Sunday. I ran 13.1 miles at the Brooklyn Half on Saturday, so I had ever reason to kick my feet up and relax post race. There's nothing I love more after running some serious mileage, than to crawl up in bed and indulge in either a great book, watch trashy television or spend hours listening to infectious indie tunes.

I certainly did a little of each this weekend especially the latter. I stumbled across a band called Cape Cub from the North East, UK, and my heart instantly melted. Their latest single "Swim" is simultaneously somber and up-lifting. A tune that was perfect for sore muscles and my runner's high. Take a listen below and see for yourself.

Flamingo Frenzy

Flamingo Frenzy

Last year, cat couture was everywhere. Cat lover's had rejoiced because their favorite feline was on everything and I mean everything. Even if you weren't a fan of the adorable furry creature, you somehow embraced the trend. This Summer, the fashion world is embracing a new animal and it is the flamingo. The long-legged vibrant pink bird has taken flight as the new cult favorite. It seems the whimsical bird is popping up on everything from tumbler glasses to bed linens and statement sneakers. The above finds are not only fun, but completely adorable and the perfect piece for the warm weather months ahead.

1. Inflatable flamingo's are migrating to unexpected places like your pool and/or lake house.

2. A tropical pink flamingo and palm tree glass wine stoppers are great gifts for those friends who own a vacation home.

3. Head on over to Ikea and snag these adorable flamingo tumbler glasses.

4. What's cute, stylish and pink all over? Your new iPhone case courtesy of Kate Spade

5. Throw pillows aren't just for frills anymore. Liven up, accent and complete any room in your home with the DENY Designs Anderson Design Group Flamingo Pattern Throw Pillow.

6. No longer just the apex of lawn ornamentation, the pink flamingo becomes the glamorous life of the party when it's featured on a fantastic clutch from Natasha Couture.

7. A white tank top just got upgraded with this adorable pocket thanks to Target.

8. Your heart flutters when you first look at this print in this fantastic midi skirt.

9. Your new weekend footwear from Kate Spade. You're welcome.

Vanic x Machineheart

With temperatures rising, it seems we have skipped Spring entirely and are headed straight into Summer. Which means, bring on the Summer jams! Canadian producer Vanic and up-and-comer's Machineheart have teamed up for a mix filled with abundant layers of bright sunny synths. A song definitely worthy to add to your Summer playlist immediately.

Expect to hear big things from Machineheart this Summer, as they just wrapped up recording their debut album. Before their debut drops, they'll be touring the states on the Summer festival circuit. If the below jam Circles is any indication of what is to come from these newcomers, then I'm already excited. Check it out below and see for yourself.

A New Attitude

When I started creating this blog over two and a half years ago, it took months to perfect my logo and layout before I was ready to hit the launch button. Garrett and I spent countless hours fine tuning every last detail. I thought my logo would be around for forever, which is why it came as quite a shock when he proposed an idea to re-do my logo a few months ago.

We've been researching, brainstorming, sketching, designing, and re-designing since the beginning of February. A lot of heart and way too many back and forth emails went into this project. There were numerous ideas that got left on the cutting room floor, but all and all, I am pretty excited and overly thankful of the final product.

Most brands make logo changes to stay top of mind, fresh and relevant. Therefore a logo re-do of Pewter and Puddles was not only necessary, but well needed in 2015. It's a fresh start to Summer and a fresh start to a whole slew of exciting posts and content ahead.

Would love to hear your thoughts in the comment section. Enjoy!

Hazel English

The weather was absolute perfect this weekend. Escaping to Philadelphia, surrounding myself with good friends, and laying out in the sun is just what this girl needed. With weekends like these, it got me excited about breezy summer days riding my bike in Central Park and listening to folk sounds while daydreaming.

Enter Hazel Grace, she personifies my weekend and so much more. Never Going Home, is summery, hazy, wistful, dreamy and nostalgic all in one. Take a spin for yourself below and start daydreaming. You'll be glad you placed play. Enjoy.

Horoscopes for May 2015

MARCH HOROSCOPES

'Nsync once said "It's gonna be May," and look here it is. I always look forward to a fresh start as soon as a new month hits. Got lots of exciting things to look forward to this month and I hope you do to! There are predictions for each sign below from her and then head on over to get the full scoop from her website for the month of May. ENJOY!

AQUARIUS (Jan 20-Feb 18)
This has all the makings of a big month for you. Both your career and home sectors, located at the very top and bottom of your chart, will be brilliantly lit, and these are prime houses of a chart. Let's have a look at the opportunities that you will have this month, because they will be plentiful! On May 3 you will have a full moon in your house of honors, awards, achievement, and fame, marking an important moment of 2015 for your career. This will be a Sunday, but all full moons have a plus or minus four days of influence, so you may feel this on Friday, May 1, or during the following week May 4 to 7.

PISCES (Feb 19-March 20)
You have been very busy creating all sorts of documents, whether proposals, reports, a screenplay, manuscripts, letters, or advertising copywriting, or you may have been creating legal briefs, business analyses, or other types of communications, and this month will bring a need to do even more. Your ability to transmit your thoughts clearly on paper and to negotiate fairly will make your success this month.

ARIES (March 21-April 19)
As the month takes off, you are thinking about your finances, paying bills, and getting all the financial tasks you need to do off your desk, including taxes if you asked for an extension. While you are into looking at calculations, review all your insurance needs to make sure you have coverage for your evolving needs. Also, check in with your broker to see how your retirement account is performing. If you don't have a retirement account, you can open one on May 6 when Pluto will work with the Sun, and no matter how small an amount you put in, it will continue to grow.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20)
Your partner will be your full focus at the full moon, May 3 in Scorpio, 13 degrees, as the month opens. This full moon will be in lovely angle to graceful Neptune, so you may be invited to a beautiful party or have a very romantic episode with your one-and-only. Neptune will be in an ideal angle too, bringing inspiration and in a beautifully romantic vibe. You may promise to be exclusive, or get engaged or married. Mercury will be opposite Saturn, so you'll mean what you say - you won't change your mind. Saturn urges long-term planning, and certainly, you will be thinking about your life in years ahead.

GEMINI (May 21-June 21)
One of the most exciting developments about May will bring the entry of energetic Mars to Gemini, May 11 through June 24. Having Mars in your sign is always an advantage, for Mars will make you passionate, courageous, energetic, determined, and sexy too. The last time you saw Mars in Gemini, it was in June through the first half of July 2013, quite a long time ago.

CANCER (June 22-July 22)
You have been under a lot of pressure lately, and your need for freedom, especially in your career, will be strong. For too long you've felt tied down with obligations at home and in your career, for planets and the eclipses have been limiting your movements. You are ready to break free of those bonds of restriction to create a better quality of life. You have not had the time to nurture your private life so far this year, but this month that will change. May brings with it dazzling social and romantic opportunities.

LEO (July 23-Aug 22)
For a long time, a question involving a home or family situation, possibly involving your residence or care for a parent, stymied you. You were in charge of the situation, but the answer was eluding you, for it was tricky and complex, with no easy answer. You may have been focused with this home or family question as early as October 2012 or as late as sometime in 2014. Saturn finally left Scorpio and your home and family sector on December 23, 2014.

VIRGO (Aug 23-Sept 22)
Life is about to get exciting, dear Virgo! Your career is about to show amazing gains, with opportunities about to drop out of the sky in May and June. It won't be all work and no play for you either because opportunities to travel will be plentiful, as well as lots of social time with friends. Dear Virgo, it looks like you have the ideal month to enjoy to the fullest.

LIBRA (Sept 23-Oct 22)
This month will all about getting your finances in order. In the first three weeks of May, you will be a productive whiz, powering through paperwork and getting things done in half the time it would usually take you. Let's look at the details, starting at the top of the month.

SCORPIO (Oct 23-Nov 21)
The month starts out with an important full moon in Scorpio, May 3, bringing something of major personal importance to you to culmination or closure. This full moon, the only one in Scorpio this year, is friendly, for it will receive a beautiful vibration from Neptune. Neptune rules your true love sector, so developments may relate to a sweetheart you are dating, or if attached, to a lovely episode with your one-and-only over that weekend May 2-3 that will take your breath away.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov 22-Dec 21)
This will be a highly productive month, for most of the planetary activity is focused in two places: on current projects, and on partners whom you will be working with in a serious, committed way.The full moon, May 3, will shine in a very private part of your chart associated with rest and healing. Take things slow, and don't push yourself at this time. All full moons are influential for four days after they appear, and at least two days prior, so keep that timing in mind. You may have been pushing yourself too hard, and if so, you may feel you have lowered your resistance.

CAPRICORN (Dec 22-Jan 19)
You had a very weighty April, so the universe is about to give you a wonderfully social, happy month of May. The minute the month takes off, you will have a full moon in Scorpio 13 degrees, May 3, likely to bring an event over the May 2-3 weekend that will put you in the center of many smiling people. Neptune will bring silvery beams to this full moon, so it's likely the setting will be romantic and very graceful, with flowers, music, fine food - it looks like an exciting dress-up affair.
