2013 Happiness

I believe in pink. I believe that laughing is the best calorie burner. I believe in kissing, kissing a lot. I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong. I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day and I believe in miracles

 - Audrey Hepburn

Audrey Hepburn had it all right - "happy girls are the prettiest girls". With the month of January almost coming to a close (seriously - how is it almost February?), I decided to reflect upon what has brought me happiness in these last three weeks. Even though the weather has been so depressing and absolutely freezing, you can never have too much happy. It's the little things that continue to make me smile each day and I wanted to share them all with you. What makes you happy in 2013?

New Apartment

Decorating my new apartment has been an absolute blast. I can't wait to show you all what I have done with my little gem of a studio. In the interim, like me on instagram and check out all the fun photos I have been posting. I've tried to purchase fresh flowers every Sunday to help bring delight and wonderful scents every time I walk in the door.

My New Commute

I pride myself on having amazing subway karma, but this new commute might be better than catching the train right when it arrives at the station. My new commute is a straight shot all the way to Penn Station and clocking in at just 15 mins door to door. How can you beat that? I also get to enjoy a few more zzzz's in the morning than I was used to before. Who doesn't love that?

Embracing Cooking

I've got a brand new refurbished kitchen in my apartment that I told myself would not go to waste in 2013. When I lived on the Upper East Side my fridge consisted of bottles of water and Salmon Burgers in the freezer. Cooking was a foreign word to me. Those days are long over. I live so close to the most amazing markets on the Upper West Side (Fairway, Zabaar's, Trader Joe's, etc.) that I've been cooking dinner a couple of nights a week and really loving it. My George Forman grill and I have become besties. Check out the dinner I made the other night inclusive of baked brussel sprouts, salmon and cous cous. Yum!!

Training for NYC Half Marathon

It has been so fantastic having Central Park just a block away from my new digs. How did I ever leave you? This has made training for the NYC Half this March such a treat. Surprisingly, the freezing weather has not made running too difficult and besides, I'd rather run with frostbite than the summer heat. There is also a ton of eye candy in the park to help motivate and push me to run that extra mile.
