Three Year Blog-Anniversary

Three years and I'm speechless. Where did the time go? Probably spent blogging, ha. This year we hit a couple new milestones that are worth bragging about - over 375 posts, a brand spanking new and improved logo, and updated website layout. I think that is reason enough to celebrate, don't you? To my family, friends, and fellow bloggers thank you for your continued readership and encouragement. I love the challenge of creating new content each and every week and I couldn't continue pushing myself without your love and support. Thank you!

In typical blog fashion, who doesn't love a good roundup? Here is a look back at the top five posts about Music, Fashion, Home Decor, NYC and Lifestyle (based on page views) from the last year:

MUSIC:

At the beginning of the year Purity Ring, dusted off their cobwebs and dropped their first single "Push Pull" from their sophomore album. A hauntingly beautiful single with hints of abstract romanticism. It is all about the production intricacies that twist, turn and crash in the background.

FASHION:

Check out the top 10 items that every women should have in her closet. Invest in timeless pieces, and you'll never be at a loss for what to wear whenever the occasion calls for something special. Do you have everything on the list?

HOME DECOR:

Cheers to my first post featuring my creation with photoshop and cheers to the ultimate NYE decor. It's almost time again to watch the ball drop. Grab one of these essential decorations for your soiree this December.

NYC:

A look back at my epic day with Lady Liberty. A definite New York bucket list activity. Book it this Summer for a great adventure in the Fall. It's hard to predict what the temperature will be like, but you just might end up scoring the perfect Fall weekend with everyone's favorite green lady.

LIFESTYLE:

This Thanksgiving, I dedicated my post to a group of women both new and old that I am oh so thankful to have in my life. 2014 would have been completely lackluster without you in it, and that, I am most grateful for.

Alessia Cara

She was born in the Summer of 1996, in Brampton, Canada. She isn't quite out of her teens just yet, but Alessia Cara is making some serious headlines this year well before her 20's. The singer songwriter, is currently signed to EP Entertainment/Def Jam Records and is most well known for her debut single "Here" from her upcoming album (which drops Friday). Prior to landing her record deal, Cara was known for her acoustic song covers on YouTube.

She recently caught T. Swift's attention and seal of approval with her amazing cover of "Bad Blood". What is great about her version is that she completely transforms it. She even throws in a Kendrik Lamar lyric. She's got my vote. See for yourself below.

Lovable Loafers

Lovable Loafers
As I start to prepare for new a season, I always go through my closet and assess my shoes. I believe that what makes a great outfit is having an on-point footwear game. Fall is approaching and my favorite footwear, the loafer, will be taking center stage. Therefore, it is essential that my closet is stocked full of them. A few years ago, I was gifted the ultimate Hanukkah present by my parents - a pair of quirky Stubbs and Wootton smoking loafers. I love wearing these in the Fall/Winter as they bring an extra pizazz to my outfits.

I wanted to share the other brands that also caught my eye who make fun and sassy loafers. Isn't it time you added an extra pep in your step and style this Fall? I've got my eyes on the Emoji one's for sure. Which pair is your favorite?

1. A heartbroken beauty from Del Toro

2. An adorable panda can be found at the zoo and on your feet from Neefs

3. What's black and white and cute all over? These Zebra loafers by Blue Bird

4. Flirt in style with these stunning loafers by the infamous Blonde Salad - Chiara Ferrangi

5. Hear no evil and see no evil with these monkey emoji loafers by Del Toro

6. I'll always save room for a bulldog, especially on my feet by Marc by Marc Jacobs

7. A scholastic statement. Pencil me in flat courtesy of Jeffrey Campbell

8. Skull and Cross Bones never looked so chic thanks to Stubbs and Wootton

It looks like this 90 degree weather ain't going away anytime soon. New Yorkers and most east coasters, won't be able to retire their Summer wardrobe just yet. However, Target has a different agenda. Everyone's favorite inexpensive fast fashion powerhouse is teaming up with designer Adam Lippes for the ultimate Fall wardrobe. You will immediately want to get rid of those flip flips for just one piece of this fabulous collection.

The limited-edition collab will feature more than 50 items with the designer's interpretation of Buffalo plaid. The collection includes women's and men's apparel, shoes, accessories and home decor items. The Names

I've always been a big fan of Vampire Weekend. All three of their albums are on constant repeat in my apartment. Little by little, band members have been toying with solo projects - Rostam Batmanglij made some music for my favorite play This Is Our Youth. And now Chris Baio, the bassist is releasing a solo record. Dropping September 18th (what a glorious birthday gift) via Glassnote, The Names, will have tapping their feet.

His first single, "Sister of Pearl" has him crooning like Elvis Costello and dancing all over the streets of London. Yes please! The bassist-turned-frontman dancing machine had this to say about the video: "I've always loved dancing - some of my earliest life memories involve dancing around my family's dining room table to Thriller when I was little."

Move over Ezra, you've got some stiff competition. Baio's tip-tapping and hip-shaking moves are working their way directly to my heart. See for yourself below.

Cat Lady

First Row: 1 // 2 // 3 // 4
Second Row: 1 // 2 // 3 // 4
Third Row: 1 // 2 // 3 // 4

Over the weekend, my friend Deborah was explaining her love for her cat Kato. Her face lit up like I have never seen before when referring to her favorite feline. While her love may run deep for many things, you could tell that her favorite companion has clearly taken the spotlight these days. I am by no means a cat person (partially because I am allergic), but seeing her get so excited over her furry friend made me smile. All cat lady jokes aside, they are pretty cute animals. A bulldog will always be my number one choice when it comes to pets, but these fun cat printed items may be a close second. The bowler hat needs to be part of my Fall wardrobe rotation. Don't you agree?

Hailee Steinfeld

Here's what you need to know about Hailee Steinfeld. For one, she is part of T. Swifty's Squad and stars in her awesome music video for "Bad Blood". Before all that, at the age of 13, she was nominated for an Academy Award for her incredible performance in the movie True Grit. And most recently, she dazzled our hearts with her amazing vocal chops in Pitch Perfect 2.

With a few movies behind her belt, and a recent record signing with Republic Records, this 18 year old is a force to be reckoned with. Her latest single "Love Myself" is an incredible self empowerment anthem that you can't help but stomp your feet to. It's got a bouncy beat, catchy synths, and shout worthy lyrics. She's got a majorly addictive debut on her hands. Listen below and add to your Summer playlist.

Horoscopes for August 2015

MARCH HOROSCOPES
It's crazy that we are 5 days into August, and I already feel that it is zooming by. Before we know it, Labor Day will be here and then we are that much closer to my birthday. I hope you all enjoy your August Horoscope as I much as I enjoyed mine. Check out your monthly horoscope courtesy of Susan Miller from Astrology Zone. There are predictions for each sign below from her and then head on over to get the full scoop from her website for the month of August. ENJOY!

AQUARIUS (Jan 20-Feb 18)
As you begin August, you will have come through a beautiful, bright full moon in Aquarius, 8 degrees, on July 31, bringing something dearly important to culmination. Saturn was beautifully oriented to that full moon, so the decision or action you may have taken will have weight and purpose, and your decision will be in place many months or years into the future, possibly forever. On any full moon, something ends or gets wrapped up, but on a new moon, opportunities surface, so you get options to start something new. At this point, you will see a conclusion.

PISCES (Feb 19-March 20)
August will be a magical, enchanting month for you, dear Pisces. You are a tender, empathetic sign, and when you fall in love, you fall deeply. You are capable of swimming to the bottom of the sea of love, and this may be one of those points in your life that love is all you hoped it to be, the kind of love you see in the movies or read about in novels. August will mark an important turning point, where love turns from lighthearted to serious, and you may notice a yearning for commitment. You may now draw up plans for marriage, even if you have hesitated to embrace the subject in the past.

ARIES (March 21-April 19)
August is so special that you will be practically giddy after you read what I have to say. It's my favorite month of the year, and for you, doubly so, because you are a fire sign, and most of August will bring the Sun, new moon, and a parade of planets to fire-sign Leo. That means that the stars are aligning for you, dear Aries, in a way you've not seen in ages. Make August count! There will be a bouquet of beautiful aspects that will send their perfume to the air around you.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20)
This will be a big, defining month for you, when things begin to turn in your favor in a very noticeable way. The headline news is that Jupiter, the great good fortune planet, will be moving out of your fourth house of home and family and into your house of true love. I am thrilled to tell you this, dear Taurus, for you, more than most, have had a hard time in matters of the heart.

GEMINI (May 21-June 21)
This month brings stimulating changes and benefits from many new sources, making it quite an exciting month. August is filed with surprise and happiness, with more sweet aspects squeezed into 31 days than I have seen all year. August will be your favorite month of 2015, for sure!

CANCER (June 22-July 22)
Last July 2014, Jupiter, the giver of gifts and luck, entered your second house of income and has been rewarding you financially ever since. At some point during those intervening months, you likely saw a strong influx of cash to your bank account, making the past year one of your most prosperous that you've ever experienced. It may have been tempting to assume you are now on easy street and that money will always flow in to you at a rapid rate. Not exactly, but I am happy you did well, dear Cancer. I would say that about ninety percent of my readers did well.

LEO (July 23-Aug 22)
You are now about to enter your favorite month of 2015, and happily, it's birthday time, sure to keep you in an ebullient mood all month. I say this even though Jupiter, the giver of great gifts and luck, is due to pack his bags and leave the constellation of Leo on August 11, not to return to your sign until June 2026. Don't be blue! You will have so much to look forward to now!

VIRGO (Aug 23-Sept 22)
Prepare to celebrate, dear Virgo! You have reached the most important month in twelve YEARS! On August 11, you will be crowned celestial favorite by benefit Jupiter, the great planet of good fortune and gifts. Jupiter's job is to make you happy, and in that quest, Jupiter will ask nothing in return. You are about to enter one of the finest years of your life.

LIBRA (Sept 23-Oct 22)
August will be a wonderful month, filled with all sorts of surprises and goodies, and it gets my vote for your favorite month of the year. I say this even though Jupiter, the giver of gifts and luck, will leave a sign that is highly compatible to yours, namely, Leo. Jupiter first entered Leo in July 2014 last year, and ever since, Jupiter has been encouraging you to expand your social circle with lots of new friendships, and with those, new chances to expand your interests too.

SCORPIO (Oct 23-Nov 21)
You are about to enter glorious August, the month that gets my vote for your favorite month of 2015. It will be as if you poked the pinata in just the right spot, for all kinds of goodies will rain down all over you, and it will be hard to choose which day turns out to be your best. As the month progresses, each day will be a bit better than the last. If only we all could enjoy months this special! While you have it, enjoy it to the hilt.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov 22-Dec 21)
August will be just your cup of tea, dear Sagittarius. It will easily become your favorite month of 2015, for all kinds of treats that the universe has cooked up for you will come raining down on you, surprising you in so many ways, in various areas of your life. If only every month could be this special! All that you experience will keep you motivated and enthusiastic about life.

CAPRICORN (Dec 22-Jan 19)
August will be a glorious month, filled with surprises and treats to enjoy in many corners of your life. As you read, you will see that I am almost giddy about how beautifully this month will unfold for you, for August will truly be an extraordinary month, filled with adventure, reward, luxurious travel - and more. If only life could always be like this!
