The Names

I've always been a big fan of Vampire Weekend. All three of their albums are on constant repeat in my apartment. Little by little, band members have been toying with solo projects - Rostam Batmanglij made some music for my favorite play This Is Our Youth. And now Chris Baio, the bassist is releasing a solo record. Dropping September 18th (what a glorious birthday gift) via Glassnote, The Names, will have tapping their feet.

His first single, "Sister of Pearl" has him crooning like Elvis Costello and dancing all over the streets of London. Yes please! The bassist-turned-frontman dancing machine had this to say about the video: "I've always loved dancing - some of my earliest life memories involve dancing around my family's dining room table to Thriller when I was little."

Move over Ezra, you've got some stiff competition. Baio's tip-tapping and hip-shaking moves are working their way directly to my heart. See for yourself below.
