This past May, I was fortunate to be in the room where it happened and see Hamilton thanks to the awesome Alex Lacamoire and Melanie Heyman. To say that the cast album has been on repeat since I saw the spectacle would be an understatement.
Just when it seems that I've overplayed all the songs way too many times to count, Lin-Manual Miranda out does himself again and I find myself craving more. This past Friday a couple songs were dropped from The Hamilton Mixtape - a forthcoming all-star collection of remixes and covers. The album drops 12/2 and will feature Busta Rhymes, Chance the Rapper, Common, Regina Spektor, Sia, Ben Folds, Queen Latifah, etc. (just to name a few). After a crazy week of emotions, Sia's rendition of Satisfied has been on repeat and I've finally been able to kick this horrendous week to the curb. Even Jonathan Groff can't contain his excitement.
