Sunday In The Park With Geroge

The last time Jake Gyllenhaal was on Broadway, I kicked myself for not paying the benjamins to see him live on stage. This time around, I made a gallant effort to see him on the Great White Way, plus he was in a musical nonetheless by my favorite composer and lyricist, Stephen Sondheim. Although it may have cost me an arm and a leg, it was completely worth the experience.

For those unfamiliar with the show, the musical was inspired by the famous painting "A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte" (the one from Ferris Beular's Day Off) by Georges Seurat. Now, I know, you're probably thinking, what a strange idea for a musical. However, I can't express enough on what a beautiful musical this was. The main story may revolve around the painting; however, there were other themes that carried through. I left the theater feeling inspired and hopeful for my future.

If my little speech didn't convince you enough, then check out swoon-worthy Jake below. Once your done; grab your wallet and immediately head to the box office.
